Oh dear, I've only just noticed the thread about my birthday that my lovely wife Bubble started this morning - now I feel a right twit!
How egocentric can one person get?!
Anyway thanks for your message and wishes everyone, I honestly am not vain at all!

Sorry Dansk about the number of birthday threads, but nobody took much notice about the other one and I must admit I'm very excited - I've been going round all day with a silly grin on my face, just like a little kid!
Well, I'm still little but an awful lot older than a kid!
See ya tomorrow!

NOT REALLY SURPRISED!
by Dansk inwell, it had to happen one day - only claire and i thought we'd be somewhat older and karl would have finished his university course.
karl telephoned earlier this week to let us know we're to become grandparents!
as karl is only 21 and has just started university i felt like reading the riot act - but what's the point!

Congratulations Grandad!!!!!
Great news to hear and I wish you and Claire all the best and of course Karl and his girlfriend.
Presumably if the baby was conceived in Brighton it's obviously going to be a Southerner - class at last!!! -

Richard Hammond by Jeremy Clarkson
by Simon ini was sent this ... apparently it's from jeremy clarksons newspaper column after his co-host on top gear, richard hammond, was badly injured in a 300 mph + crash .... .
september 23, 2006. in the wee small hours of thursday night, just 30 hours after what is almost certainly the worlds fastest ever car crash, richard hammond suddenly sat up in bed, opened his eyes and asked what had happened.
youve been in a car accident, i said.

Slight difference too between a blow out on a crowded motorway and a blow out on a totally empty track with massive run off areas.
I'm not saying any risk is worth it but i can assure you that risk management studies will have been carried out first.
Also if it were not for others taking risks, America would not have been 'discovered', we wouldn't be able to fly around the world and I wouldn't be able to experience the thrill of driving.
